Jared Meads, Principal
Hello! My name is Jared Meads and I am the Principal of Hewitt Trussville Middle School. I am happily married to my wife Hannah; and father to two beautiful boys named Tucker and Bennett (Soon to have a 3rd boy named Carter). I am very proud to have grown up in Trussville and to be an HT graduate of 2007. I completed my undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama. I have spent most of my career at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School where I served as a teacher, coach, and administrator. I spent the 2022-2023 school year as an Assistant Principal at Hewitt-Trussville High School, and am excited to return as Interim Principal at HTMS. I am blessed to be a part of this community and school system. Looking forward to a great school year, and Go Huskies!
Erin McGuyer, Assistant Principal
Hello! My name is Erin McGuyer and I am an assistant principal at Hewitt Trussville Middle School. I am married to Eric McGuyer and we have two amazing children, Ryne and Caroline. I graduated from Hewitt Trussville High School in 1995. I completed my undergraduate degree in secondary education social sciences in 1999 from UAB and completed my master's in secondary education in 2007 from UWA. I recently completed my instructional leadership certificate in 2023 from UNA. I have spent most of my career at HTMS as a 7th-grade civics and geography teacher and a sponsor of various extracurricular activities. I am proud to be a part of this community and HTMS. Go Huskies!
Mrs. McGuyer works closely with students, families, and teachers to support HTMS 6th grade girls and all of 7th grade.
Brianna Oliveira, Assistant Principal
Hi, I’m Brianna Oliveira, and I’m proud to serve as the Assistant Principal at the very school where I attended middle and high school—go Huskies! I graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2011 with a degree in Healthcare Administration and later earned my Master’s degree in Secondary English Education from Samford University in 2014. My passion for education began in the classroom as an English teacher, where I loved sharing my enthusiasm for reading, literature, and writing with my students.
In 2025, I completed my Educational Leadership Certification from Samford, further fueling my commitment to educational leadership and student success. I’ve been married to my husband, James, since 2011, and we have one amazing son, Paxton. It’s an honor to give back to the community that shaped me, and I’m excited to continue supporting our students, staff, and families every day.
